Scouts This Week!

No Scouts this Wednesday night. Instead, we are meeting on Thursday night at the Irymple Scout Hall, Sunbeam Ave, Irymple. 7-9pm.

Parents Meeting - Wednesday night (26th July) at 7pm

Hello all, This Wednesday night (26th July) at 7pm we are having Parent Meeting at the Hall in the room at the back. All parents are welcome. At the moment a small band of 3 or 4 parents are running the group. This is not enough. We have meetings every other month. Please come along Support your child by helping run our Scout Group. Sunraysia District Scout Hike 2017 - 28th - 30th July

The District Hike is only ONE WEEK away, we need to get those not on CareMonkey signed up and their profiles completed. Friday 28th July at 7:00pm (on Yelta Rd, 29km past Meridian Road) to Sunday 30th June at 1pm (Deadman's Track, 15km down Yelta Road). We shall meet at our hall at 6pm and head out together in cars.  Scouts will be self-catering so need to plan their menu and bring all required food. Water will be available to fill up drink bottles. Cooking equipment and tents can be shared with friends .Bring warm sleeping gear as it will be VERY cold. Bring an extra blanket! Scouts Tonight - Walk from Kings Billabong to Nichols Point Scouts Hall & Investiture of Ella & Brianna.

Scouts Tonight (31 May 2017). Walk from Kings Billabong to Nichols Point Scout Hall via the Nichols Point Cemetery. (Last part of the 'Their Service / Our Heritage' badge) Start at the first bridge at Kings Billabong (from the entrance at the end of Irymple Avenue). Walk finishes at the Nichols Point Scout Hall. We will be investing Ella & Brianna at 8:45pm at Nichols Point Scout Hall.

Scout Term 1 Breakup - Term 1 Breakup. Wednesday 7-9pm at Nowingi Place

We are borrowing the 5th Mildura billie carts and taking them down to Nowingi Place for rides along the paths. Please bring your own scooter, skateboard, green machine, billie cart, roller blades, roller skates, etc. (No bikes). Everyone MUST wear a helmet while riding ANYTHING. Bring your own water bottle and insect repellant. We will provide sausage and bread. Might even be an ice cream on offer.

SCOUTHIKE 2017 TRIP TO TALLAROOK

SCOUTHIKE 2017, Tallarook State Forrest (Same weekend as our local Sunraysia District Scout Hike) Click to book! Sunraysia District Scouts have the opportunity to travel down to Tallarook State Forest to participate in the Victorian ScoutHike, along with 800+ other scouts from around the state. (The local district hike will be held on the same weekend, so Scouts need to choose one or the other.)  The cost to attend the Victorian Scout Hike is $100 (Transport and registration) plus individual's are required to provide their own food for the weekend. (Food can be sorted out closer to the departure date in activity patrols if agreed, this would be approximately $20). This is a fantastic opportunity for our Scouts to travel to a state event. Numbers are capped at the first 20 Scouts to pay in full through TryBooking. If we do have more interest, we may be able to get an extra van / car and parent helpers to take more scouts. Scout Dump Hike - Tonight (15 March 2017)

Start on Gibbs Street (between Ranfurly Way and the railway line) at 7pm. See image. Finish at McDonalds for a 60 cent cone. Pick up at McDonalds (Deakin Ave). Please bring a drink bottle and wear shoes suitable for walking.

Scouts Tonight is at Waves - 8 March 2016, 7-9pm

Scouts is at Waves tonight from 7-9pm. Everyone must be out of the water by 8:45pm. The Troop fund will cover the cost of Scouts. Bring a full set of clothes if you require to do survival skills fully dressed. This is only if you are up to this level, a proficient swimmer and confident in your abilities.

Welcome Back Catherine!

We welcome one of our former 5th Mildura Scouts, now and Rover and Leader, Catherine Jayne Dyke back home as a new Assistant Scout Leader at 5th Mildura Scouts. Catherine will attend fortnightly, balancing her Scout volunteering with her work commitments. We are very luck to have Catherine on board!

Happy New Year 5th Mildura Scouts and Families!! Here starts the 2017 year of Scouting at 5th Mildura. This Wednesday night from 7pm to 8pm, we are having Troop Council at our hall. PL's and APL's only. The following Wednesday night we are having scouts at the Red Cliffs RSL (Jamieson Avenue, Red Cliffs). The RSL has arranged a guest speaker, and they will be cooking us hot dogs in bread!! Full uniform. Drop off and pick up from the RSL Hall.
