35th Mallee Rover Scout Activity Camp

Mallee Rover Crew and Sunraysia District Scouts present the 35th Mallee Rover Scout Activity Camp November 4 th ,5 th ,& 6 th 2011 This is the camp of the year, for all of the Scouts (and Venturers, Leaders and Rovers), in the Sunraysia and surrounding Districts. Held every year on the banks of the mighty Darling River, just outside of Wentworth. The camp is an activity camp where the Scouts come to have fun and participate in the activities run by the local Rover crews. Download the Scout info pack here!! Cohen Shield & District Competition Camp 2011 - Mertenalli Sandhills, Kelso Station. September 9, 10 & 11.

What is it ?: Cohen Shield is both a competition and an activity camp. So it is a full camp set-up . Everything needs to be as good as you can make it. Camp sites will be judged. When: 9th, 10th & 11th September 2011. Meet at the Hall at 6:00pm on Friday night. Uniform:  Scouts need to wear full uniform to travel to and from the activity. Where : Mertenalli Sandhills, Kelso Station, Pooncarie Road, via Wentworth, NSW (see map below).  Transport Arrangements : We will meet at the Scout Hall at 6pm on Friday 9th September, and all travel out together. Scouts may arrange car pooling. Depart : Scout Hall, 6pm Friday evening. Return : Pick up from camp, 2:30pm Sunday. Cost: $25 Health Form: Download here and return it with payment. Annual General Meeting : Tue 30 August 7:30pm - 9:30pm

The 5th Mildura Scout Group Committee is holding its Annual General Meeting at 7:30pm on Tuesday 30th August at the Hall. The Parents Committee’s main function is to support the leaders to ensure that we have an active and healthy group. The Group presently has a active Cub Pack, Scout Troop and Venturer Unit with a total of about 50 youth members (and we are still growing!). Parents of members from all sections are encouraged to get involved. The committee: controls group finance, maintains (and cleans) the hall and grounds, completes submissions for special funding, organises fundraising and social activities, seeks potential leaders, promotes the group and Scouting in community to ensure growth in membership. The Parents Committee is elected at an Annual General Meeting usually held in August of each year. Members are required to attend meetings held each month. Visitors are welcome. Scouts: Patrol Activity Night - Wednesday 17 August

Scouts tomorrow night 17/8 is 'Patrol Activity Night'. 7:30-9:30pm, full uniform. Drop off and pick up by parents at venue. No need for scouts to come to hall (apart from Falcons). Ask PL for cost details. Scouts are not to leave venue until collected by a parent. Do not leave until all scouts have been collected. Patrol Activities: Falcons (PL: James) - Chocolate Making at Hall. Bandicoots (PL: Chloe) - Put Put Kangas (PL: Tavis) - Put Put Eagles (PL: John) - Star FM & Ten Pin Bowling (Transport?). Venturers Tonight 11/08/11 :: L-Plate Night at 2nd Mildura Hall

Venturers is at the 2nd Mildura Hall tonight. We have swapped our planned 'Games Night' for 'L-Plate Night'.  Where: 2nd Mildura Scout Hall on Ontario Avenue (between 10th & 11th).  Wear: Full uniform. Time: 7:30-9:30pm. Getting There: Drop off and pick up at 2nd Mildura.

Cubs in August

I think I have this blog worked out, only taken an few attempts. Last week at Cubs we made models of the Solar System they are hanging on our Six hooks.  This is part of the Space badge.  Later in the term we will be going to Stargazers. Next week Mr John Douglas will be talking about how Scouting started in Sunraysia and we will also be revamping our time line, so for any one who brings some info, I may have a treat!! August 22nd is Scouts In Action Week Disability Awareness so keep signing the Promise and I will teach you all the next bit, next week. August 29th we have a  Dentist Visiting us, to teach us about looking after our teeth.

Scouts National Tree Day :: Sunday 7 August 2011 (9:30am to 11:30am)

Calling all Joeys, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Leaders, Fellowship members & Families, Please find attached the Flyer for the Sunraysia District Scouts National Tree Day this coming Sunday 7th August 2011 from 9.30am to 11.30am. Council has given us the Railway Linear Reserve between 11th Street & 12th Street, Mildura. We can all meet at Heley Court Playground ~ directions to get there: From Ontario Ave turn into 12th Street & head back towards Walnut Ave, the playground is at the end of 12th Street next to railway line.
